| True Carnage Season 2 – Final Week of Regular Season Predictions | |
With the start of week 5 it looks like the top 4 for division 1 are pretty much set. K1ck US will take first place in the standings, -I will take 2nd and depending on the outcome of k1ck US vs. Unchained Pirates, DI and Unchained will take the 3rd and 4th spots. KL is out of the run for a playoff spot and k1ck EU only stands a chance if they beat –i with a huge cap differential. Without further a due, here are this week’s predictions.
Negative Influence vs. k1ck EU
K1ck EU has had four weeks of match experience playing with their 120-140 pings. Will this mean anything vs. –i? I’m going to have to say no. I am in no way taking away from k1ck EU’s capability of being one of the best Q4CTF squads to be around. However, they are facing a team that has proven ctf strategic experience and they have substantially lower pings. Both teams are strategically sound, but the outcome of this match is going to be a ping issue as it has been for k1ck EU all season. I would like to thank k1ck EU for participating in True Carnage Season 2 and hope to see them again next season. Here are my predictions:
Negative Influence> k1ck EU: 3-0
Heartless – 15-0 Negative Influence
DBD – 5-2 Negative Influence
WCP14 – 12-0 Negative Influence
Kitten Litter vs. Digital Infamy
KL, a team that has been winless all season faces a team that has been improving since True Carnage Season 1. I do not want to bash KL, they have been active contributors to the q4ctf community and Kitten has provided us a server and q4tv solution on many occasions. With this week’s maps, I do not expect KL to have a chance on any of them. They might push on cp14 but I am sure it will be tough to manage DI’s aggressive offense. Here are my predictions:
Digital Infamy> Kitten Litter: 3-0
Heartless – 8-1 Digital Infamy
DBD – 10-0 Digital Infamy
WCP14 – 8-1 Digital Infamy
K1ck US vs. Unchained Pirates
This is most certainly the matchup of the week. Unchained Pirates, along with Negative Influence, have entered True Carnage Season 2 with a team that was formed close to the deadline for registration. They have been pug’n, scrimming, strategizing and really making huge improvements to their game. In week 4, -I was almost defeated by Unchained Pirates on the first two maps that were played. They were only one cap differentials. This says a lot about Unchained, they are clearly no one to step over. However, I still expect a win by k1ck US and let me explain. The maps of the week do not favour Unchained. Sure, if they had the maps like they did vs. –i they would most certainly pull of close games like they have shown that they are capable of. However, they are facing k1ck US on heartless and DBD, both maps in my opinion are defiantly in favour for k1ck US as they have had countless blowouts due to mid control and speed of offense. I expect a closer game on cp14 due to the Pirate’s conservative approach and consistency on performing well on that map. Here are my predictions:
K1ck US> Unchained Pirates: 3-0
Heartless – 7-2 k1ck US
DBD– 6-2 k1ck US
WCP14– 3-2 k1ck US
This will be my last prediction for the season. I will not be doing playoff predictions and I hope someone else steps up to the challenge. Good luck to all the teams continuing onto the playoffs and thank you to all the teams for allowing True Carnage to have another successful season.
