| True Carnage Season 2 – Week 4 Predictions | |
 After an exciting week 3 in the True Carnage season with close match ups between k1ck US and Negative Influence as well as Digital Infamy with Unchained Pirates, week 4 is going to be much quieter. It is highly recommended to check out the k1ck US vs. –i demos if you did not have a chance to watch the match, they can be found on the FTP which is detailed on the www.truecarnage.com forum. The match ups for this week are a bit one sided except for one match, Negative Influence vs. Unchained Pirates. So with all that being said, I would like to point out that I am 6-0 with my predictions. So when I say –i will beat k1ck in the playoffs no one will doubt me! :p Let’s move onto week 4’s predictions. The maps of the week are Q4W2, Speed Trap and European favorite, Ruiner.
Kitten’s Litter vs. k1ck U.S.A
As of right now, it seems like Kitten Litter are most likely going to be one out of the two teams who will not make the playoffs. They are currently sitting with a 0-2 record and there has been no active participation coming from their team except by their one player, pug. It can be assumed that they have lost interest and have no desire to prove anything. It is a shame in itself but we appreciate their participation in this tournament as they have been long time supporters of the Q4CTF community. K1ck US on the other hand, have gone 3-0 so far this season after defeating the #2 seeded team, Negative Influence in week 3. The game between the two teams was very close and it looked as if Negative Influence was going to win cp9 and they almost made an outstanding comeback on cp14. Expect to see an even more action packed game between –i and k1ck US in the playoffs. As for this match between KL and k1ck US, I expect a 3-0 blowout with possibly a shutout on k1ck US’s side. Here are my predictions:
K1ck US> Kitten Litter: 3-0
Q4W2 – 10-0 k1ck US
Speed Trap – 15-0 k1ck US
Ruiner – 12-0 k1ck US
K1ck E.U. vs. Digital Infamy
Both of these teams have one common goal; they are trying to secure a spot in the playoffs. Currently k1ck EU is sitting with a 0-2 record as they have not had an opportunity to play their week 3 match vs. KL due to KL’s busy life schedule. I predicted last week that they would win their match vs. KL and I still strongly believe so. As for Digital Infamy, they came out with a 2-1 victory vs. Unchained Pirates who played a 100 pinging Despair on the first map which they lost by a close margin as well as lacking a consistent lineup throughout the three maps that were played. Would that match have gone different if Unchained was ready? Perhaps. However, we cannot speculate and assume that it would have. I have given DI credit where it has been rightly deserved. They have improved their game drastically and are certainly a contending team. So what about this week? Digital Infamy vs. k1ck EU….an interesting match to consider because of week 4 maps. I would say that if this were even playing grounds, k1ck EU would win as they have two q4 original maps in which they are very comfortable with, speed trap and ruiner. However, this is not fair playing grounds as k1ck EU will have to deal with their ping disadvantage once again vs. a team who wants to clinch a playoff spot. I feel DI will win not because of better skill or teamwork, but ping. Even with ping being such a large factor, I still think close matches will come out of this match up. I am choosing DI to win because I feel they want to continue their winning streak until the end of the season. Here are my predictions:
Digital Infamy> k1ck EU: 2-1
Q4W2 – 4-2 Digital Infamy
Speed Trap – 4-3 k1ck EU
Ruiner – 5-3 Digital Infamy
Negative Influence vs. Unchained Pirates
The match up between these two teams is certainly going to be the match of the week. Negative Influence, a team consisting of mickey, rapha, cxt, tension, suav and airrick have proven that they are certainly the top contender to take the crown from k1ck US this season. Their week 3 match was a night to remember as caps were going back and forth and the scores were very close. Demos can be found on the True Carnage FTP. After the match, the community was talking about the highlights of the game and making comments like “that was the best and most exciting match I have ever seen in q4ctf”. So what does this mean? Q4CTF certainly does have hope after all….as long as more participants from the q3ctf community make the transition over. Unchained Pirates, mickey’s and cxt’s former team, has the similar 2-1 record as Negative Influence. Their look, their style, their lineup has completely changed from season 1. The Unchained Pirates team was formed after a merger between team Unchained and Flag Pirates occurred. This brought over despair, cauztics and ban over to the Flag Pirates team who had tyb, switchback, mesh, JW and h0meless. I expect this to be an interesting game as Speed Trap is thrown into the mix where –i has no experience with as a team except vs. KL in week 1’s match. Their victory vs. KL on that map was not too convincing. However, the remaining two maps q4w2 and ruiner should go –i’s way as they have developed a strong game on both maps. Ruiner started off as being a rough map for Negative Influence but after much dedication in developing a strategy on it, Negative Influence has changed their game around and have been undefeated on that map ever since. There is also one other issue to consider here, mickey (myself). The best player in the world (: p) is graduating and making a move between cities…..when and how long this will take is up in the air right now. So will mickey be participating in week 4’s match? No one can be sure. This may be a blow to Negative Influence’s guaranteed win but Tension as a replacement is nothing to step over. His speed and commitment to offense may prove to be too hot to handle for Unchained Pirates. If Unchained Pirates fields a consistent starting lineup of h0meless, switch, tyb and caustics, they will give Negative Influence a tough game. With all that being said, here are my predictions:
Negative Influence> Unchained Pirates: 2-1
Q4W2 – 4-2 Negative Influence
Speed Trap – 4-3 Unchained Pirates
Ruiner – 6-0 Negative Influence
GL to all the teams and let’s try to give me a 9-0 record in predictions!

Forgot to mention shiz was pinging 300 and didn't play the second map, you know he's a difference maker =D... We knew cp14 would also be tight. GG's though, clearly the most exciting match anyone has seen in a long time. |

Hmm as far as k1ck.eu vs DI. I think you may or may not be right about ping, but I think you have the winning map predictions wrong. Ruiner I think will be the only chance for the euros, given its small rooms, however, this is our favorite map so that will be something to consider. I dont think the euros play that big ol map, and speed trap is all rail for defense, and im not sure how well they can or can't do it so we will have to see. Anyways, thats my 2 cents. |
