| Season 2 – Week 3 Predictions for Division 1 | |
 Continuing off last week’s predictions, I’d like to point out how accurate I was. Compare the –I vs DI results to my prediction….damn I was close……maybe we just wanted me to look good so we didn’t cap more! :p Ok that’s enough about this last week, let’s talk about this week.
K1ck EU vs. Kitten Litter
K1ck EU who has lost all 6 maps so far in this tournament, has been close in a couple of maps vs. both Unchained Pirates and k1ck USA. It is quite obvious that their 120+ pings are causing their suffering. However, Kitten Litter has also played Unchained Pirates losing 3-0 in week 2 and losing to Negative Influence 3-0 in week 1. So really, both teams are in the same boat, THEY NEED TO WIN! Because only the top 4 teams enter the playoffs, one of these teams won’t be making the cut. This match is crucial for both teams to succeed otherwise their season will be ending fast. Now looking at the maps, I am going to say that k1ck EU will win this 2-1 in maps; let me explain why. K1ck EU has shown that they are quite familiar with the q4 designed maps as they had close games with both Unchained Pirates and k1ck USA on them. However, when playing the q3 remakes, they did not demonstrate the same capability. As the first map is Heartless, I expect k1ck EU to win this map as it’s a q4 original. When considering the other 2 maps which are q3 remakes, I think k1ck EU will win cp9 as that’s been played on Euro pugs everyday since the beginning of time. Like really…who DOESN’T know about cp9? With that being said, here is my complete random score distribution for this match:
K1ck EU > Kitten Litter: 2-1
FPS Heartless – 7-2 for k1ck EU
Q4WCP9 – 6-3 for k1ck EU
Q4WCP14 – 5-2 for Kitten Litter
Negative Influence vs. k1ck USA
Woah woah woah woah woah wooooooooooooooooooooooooah. Hold up….this match is coming up already?!?!?!?!? Who is ready? Are you ready? Shit…am I ready?????? Is Shizem ready? Did he buy a new pair of roller-skates for this match? Has Mickey finished polishing his rocket launcher? Will Rapha make an appearance for this match?!?!?! Well the hype around this match is nothing but….expected. The two teams predicted to finish first and second are finally colliding in this anticipated week 3 match. I am going to have a very tough time predicting this game, I won’t be as accurate as –i vs. DI cause come-on…..that was quite obvious who was going to win. Right Drad1k? :p Both teams have come out with a 6-0 record after the first two weeks. Even though k1ck USA completely blew DI out of the water and –i did not do the same, the outcome in the end was the same, a 3-0 win for both teams. Explanation for this? Maybe DI doesn’t know how to deal with k1ck’s squad or maybe DI prepared more for the –i match. There could also be the simple conclusion which is k1ck USA is way better than –i which I am unwilling to accept until proven.
I also wanted to point out how it sucks for the community(mostly for -i :p) when k1ck pussies out from scrimming because icelore has an issue with cxt and Shizem doesn’t like it when suav pummels his dead corpse….like come on, when has stuff like that ever stopped two teams from scrimming in ctf history? Bad blood between two opposing players and corpse pummeling has been around for as long as I can remember, even in q2! I never remember teams getting so upset that they refused to play one another due to these two silly reasons in q3….sounds like either something else is going on or k1ck didn’t want to continue showing weakness after scrimming –i after playing with their all d lineup and getting beaten down pretty hard on CP14. My theory is that they wanted to show Shizem’s skill as little as possible so they catch –i off guard with his speed as they have not had to deal with it all season. I believe if this is the correct theory, it was stupid because the same hardship will follow for them….they won’t know how we play. So I guess this makes the two teams on even grounds….now let’s predict what the heeeeeck is going to happen.
Heartless...Heartless….Heartless…….wow, does Shizem ever run real fast on this map. Guy floats to the clouds off of the middle quad ramps from both sides. My rockets don’t reach that far and there is no rail on this map! However, I still expect this game to be a close one if one thing happens, Rapha plays. Rapha’s fragging ability is required to help –i balance out Shizem’s attack along with his sidek1ck (har har har) Cdogg. Moving on to cp9, I expect that k1ck US will bring a tough game and it will catch –i off guard. –i has had no opportunity to play cp9 with any teams thus far, creating a disadvantage as they are not experienced as a team playing on it and have not come up with any strategies so far. K1ck on the other hand have been playing this map since its release into the q4 community and have established a strong game on it. Moving onto cp14, this map has proven to be a good choice for both teams. –i has won on cp14 too many times to count in scrims vs. other teams and they did blow k1ck USA’s lineup of icelore, wn, nt and….gizer? I don’t remember. However, it is quite obvious that replacing any of those guys and putting in Shizem makes a huge difference. So here are my predictions for the three maps:
K1ck USA > Negative Influence: 2-1
FPS Heartless – 6-5 for k1ck USA
Q4WCP9 – 5=3 for k1ck USA
Q4WCP14 – 6-4 for Negative Influence
Unchained Pirates vs. Digital Infamy
This could possibly be a contending match of the week showdown. DI and Unchained Pirates, this will be an exciting one. Exciting as k1ck USA vs. –i? I doubt it…but exciting nonetheless. DI has come off the first two weeks with a 0-2 record and Unchained with a 2-0 record. Does this mean anything? No. DI had to face the two toughest teams in the tournament in their first two weeks while Unchained Pirates has not had a tough opponent until now, DI. Since Unchained has a 2-0 record and DI has a 0-2 record, I feel that DI has something to prove and will come out with a victory in this game. I also expect very close games between these two teams on all three maps. With DI receiving a nice wakeup call and warm-up by playing the top two seeded teams, I feel that DI will have the edge here. Here are my predictions:
DI > Unchained Pirates: 3-0
FPS Heartless – 5-3 for Digital Infamy
Q4WCP9 – 5-3 for Digital Infamy
Q4WCP14 – 5-4 for Digital Infamy

I didn't know you made week 1 predictions. I am commenting in general. We were predicted to lose to kick.eu by icelore and cpy, and predicted to play close games vs KL, which as we know resulted in quite a blow out similar to your games vs them. |

Get in some pickups if you want to see us play... or perhaps ask before midnight . Personally, I don't think it would make a difference if we scrimmed you guys every night, but I'll leave it to the others to decide. Also, it was ka, nt, ice, and myself on cp14, and I was running around on o with nt.
We (k1ck) kinda hope rapha will make an appearance, as well Should be some exciting games. gl hf. |

Now I will say this.. and you can hear me out or just ignore me. Seeing that we played both k1ck.us and Negative Influence i'll say this. When we played Negative Influence it was a tough game those guys are highly skilled and have good team work, but we felt we "could" of won with more experience and game time in. Not taking away from their win they truely earned it and congrats..
Now when it came to us vs k1ck.us, it felt like they were on a totally different level, in skill, ability, teamwork, magic, and we were being punished for installing Quake 4.
Hopefully Negative Influence can prove me wrong and come within close margins, but I feel (and this is just a feeling) that the gaps in caps will be substatially larger.
I anticipate k1ck.us to be hitting 2x digits. |

I'd just like to point out that I know what its like not being able to scrim somebody because a grudge cough cough *KL* ahem. Oh well its just a stupid game no reason to be mad at somebody for longer than 10 minutes tops. |
