WSVG Toronto was by far the most competitive Quake 4 event of the year to date. Toxic won in the face of extremely strong pressure from Dahang. DaHang was definitely the story as he is clearly progressing to the point where he will be in contention for the top spots in every event he plays in.
Toxic continues to be the man to beat. His aim with rail and lg continues to be the deciding factor even in the face of superior map control. The most important thing to take away from this event as a spectator is the fantastic realization that there are a number of players that are up to challenging Toxic. The tremendous gap that Toxic has enjoyed in the past 2 years is clearly closing as other players rise to his level. Who will it be in LA? Dahang will definitely keep up the pressure if he can, and we shouldn't forget aV3k, despite the fact that he crumbled a bit under the weight of expectation. Cooler is also progressing and finding his footing in Quake 4 with victories over fojji, Chance, aV3k, and Lost CauZe.
The bottom line is the Quake 4 Duel scene is heating up. The next event is LA WSVG and there should be amazing competetion.

Upper Bracket Round 2 Match Ups
Now that the sacrificial offerings to the Quake gods are out of the way, tomorrow's coverage should have mostly quality matches. There are a couple of snoozers, but a number of interesting match ups. If I heard correctly, the day begins at 11:00am Toronto time with Purri vs Cypher. Thats one way to get the day started off right. Other interesting matches include Chance vs Cooler, the Canadian championship between Griffin and Gelleshak, and Nomadic and Lost-CauZe.
Quarter Finals Highlights
In the best game so far, Toxic knocks Av3k down to the lower brackets. Toxic is still having trouble on Placebo, losing that map badly, but winning Monsoon and Phrantic handily. In another great game, Cooler manages to take down fojji in 3 maps and Cooler is looking more and more like he has returned to form. The semi finals are going to be something to watch.
Semi Finals Highlights
There were a number of great games in the semi finals. Toxic is playing at top form and even though there are number of people playing him competitively, he is definitely the man to beat. av3k is the favorite to fight his way back from the lower brackets, but it's by no means a lock. Cypher, Dahang and Cooler are all looking to push past av3k and challenge toxic.
