| Quake 4 Mods - GTR Update -- More Programmers Needed | |

this news should have been out a month ago, but we had communication problems with our old news poster Tesseract. Luckily we got a new newsposter: mTw|eSca.
Welcome and thanks for helping us.
We did much work on GTR in the last few weeks and it is getting better and better. At first we made a Wiki for GTR, which can be edited/modified by you (Special thanks to Inops, who filled it with content)
The GTR Team is happy to announce a new member, Kill4Free` who is designing the graphics for the new menu we are working on. It looks very cool and has everything you could want to see in a menu. But we also worked on the performance to make it getting smoother. Furthermore a new bug report tool was included in GTR, so that bugs are easier to find.
The enhanced sabot is getting better every day and we have already done a lot of performance improvements on the bot by converting all scripts files to real C++.
The GTR Mappack has already four midair- and two TDM maps, which are finished and more maps are in work.
We have additional worked on some unlagged code in the last few weeks. A test version for you is downloadable here and can be played on this Server: 85.90.162.19:28004. Before enjoy it, you have to extract the Zip to your quake4 folder (for example: c:\games\quake4) there it will create an unlagged folder automatically.
The second work, which is also in the unlagged Zip file, was for a new napalm gun style, which makes it more effective. An example for the new style can be watched in this video (If you have problems to watch the file, try this player. To enjoy the new style, you have to extract the Zip file as told before.
We have another new member to announce: IvIephisto, a new coder, who is working on the new StatShare code. This StatShare code is hopefully soon bringing you a new comfort in finding equally good players, and improving your skills.
And finally we are happy to present a new trial member, darknesz. He is a modeler and is going to help us on playermodels and stuff. But he has problems to export md5 models from Maya 8. If you have any idea how to help our modeler, solving this problem, please contact us.
Sadly the two other trial members, who applied for gtr, had to leave us (this news is way too old now), because of real life problems. So can not tell you if we are able to make so much on the moviemaker features for Version 0.20.
But Tchouky from Shaolin Productions is trying to get us some cool movie making features ported from his famous Kroma, a Q3 engine for moviemaking. Although it is not sure yet, how much is possible, and if he is able to finish it.
